i would totally coat the chambers and exh. ports. hell, i've heard you can buy some stuff to do it yourself, if i can find it and it looks worth it, i'm totally doing it. and it'd be totally more worth it for you, keeping as much heat as possible inside the motor/pipes/turbo will give you the best setup possible(i know you already know this)

i'd coat the pistons too. i wouldn't do it myself. i'm too afraid of the coating flaking off!

im not too worried about coatings as of yet... plus putting a coating on myself i would worry about having hot spots in uneven places.

well i got the engine in finally... i went over to the house at 2pm with 2 cases of beer and a couple buddies, got the heads on, sat and drank alot..then at 6 we kinda figured we should get to the real reason why we were there: put the engine in! i put it in with no intakes though, i didnt have my lifters done yet..i got those put together tonight. tomorrow at work im going to tap out the intake coolant pipe hole to fit my 3 wire coolant temp sensor. then put the lower intake on, and start on my new trans mount (makin room for the turbo).

techline makes some good coatings that would work for pistons and headers, turbo/etc etc etc ... look into them.

your IH will be taller though, that might help.

its off of the vvt 3500's. looks so much better and more durable then the shitty plastic. yeah we will see about the springs... i kinda bought them be4 i chose the stage 4 cam instead of the stage 3. but the install height should help a little.. if i gotta change them i have the tool to pump up some air in the cylinders.

It does look good. My plastic one lasted about 160-170k before it cracked. Nothing $15 didn't solve though. lol
