i was told it does the block good, and any hardening will help since i plan on pushing it.

i finally got my cam from the wot store, and some misc parts to put it in. i went with all gm parts and seals and sealants (free at work hehe). i went with the stage 4 cam from the store; 274IN, 274Ex. 502 lift. i also got bored at work and polished the alternator and water pump pulley, then buffed them at home. to get the crank scraper to work with the 327 rods, i had to modify the hell out of it, but i got it to work. i also put on a new water pump while its all apart. Also does anyone know if the 3500 crank pulley will fit into the 3400? i sold the ffp udp due to being too light.

got some more stuff done, and got most of my parts to put the engine in and hopefully drop the engine in the car.. my goal is one month to have it dropped in (crossing fingers). tomorrow heads go off to machine shop for 5 angle valve job and milling .010

good point about the rear cover.... i took it home one night, roughed it up, stayed after work for 20 mins, used a die grinder with 3m rolloc pads, rough grit, medium, then fine, and hit it up with 320 for 15 mins, then 400, and then the buffer. buffer is a HUGE time saver! it just kinda started out with the front cover then it snowballed into the waterpump pulley, alternator, rear cover, etc..[SIGPIC]

so you like the tall-filler style V/C's too eh? i have two sets of the short style and two of the tall style, and i decided to clean up the tall ones too.... the short neck style just looks weird, don't you think?

got some more things done. i cut the mainstud blocking my oil pump, cleaned the threads with a thread file. (sorry forgot pictures), i might pull the pan off and snap some. got the oil pump on, pickup welded to the pump. ill be picking up the heads soon and ill have her together and hopefully dropped in the car!
