the lim is polished but it still has a light textured surface. besides after doing many lims at work, the spray pattern of the injectors barely touch anywhere in the lim, but the heads mostly. as with the heads, the intake side still has a slight texture. besides, 20psi will make it flow haha.

i think the wrinkle look is just paint over an unsmoothed surface.

Yes, the "crinkle" is just from the cast aluminum. I just sprayed it with high temp Semi-Gloss black. Gloss is too flashy, and flat is too flat.... LOL.

that looks good i think. im having just the uim, and valve covers powdercoated. the guy wanted ALOT to do the lim and timing cover too. i just sprayed those with some dark iron color high temp paint. the powder coater dude has some flaked silver that actually looks polished, so instead of gettin arthritis tryin to polish the covers and uim, im just havin those coated lol

Hey Paul, where the hell have you been? Do you not come on v6z24 anymore? Damn that is a nice build. The port work deffinately looks top-notch. You're car has always been fast and with the build engine 11s are very possible. Good luck with it.

Since we are showing off engines, I'll attach mine.

Wow I focking hate computers anyways from the two pictures my pos computer let me see it looks like your bottom end is pretty similar to mine I have no doubts at all that you will break 11's.

Some people just underestimate these engines which is why I can't wait until a few builds like yours gets finished so we can start showing some numbers.

Yeah the 3100 is in the Fiero now. I got it running a few months ago. I've been having some issues since day one though. I believe it's time to drop in another engine. I'm tired of trying to fix this 3100. Soon I'll be building a 3400/3500 hybrid and it will be completely rebuilt.

But yeah, GL with the new build! Hopefully you will hit your goal of 11s and show some people what these little engines are capable of.

yea, the whole crankcase has been deburred, and then i took sanding wheels to it to make it smooth. i did the same to the lifter valley. i also had the block heat treated to increase the density of the iron. it was also line bored, and the crank was balanced, and i was told its good for what i plan on doing with it. i just need the stage 3 cam, lifters, head studs and pushrods and im going to put it together. then drop it in and finish the turbo kit. ive got a paper weight gt35r collecting dust lol.

i thought so. everything looks way to smooth and shiny to not be smoothed. that sounds like a good build. not a throw it together set up. had the block heat treated...never heard of anyone doing that, but a good idea. wonder how much a cryo treated block would be.

cryo would have cost over 500 ish. there was a shop down the road from my apt in chicago that cryo'd parts.. and that wasnt in the budget.. i asked them and it only cost 150 to treat the block. i was told he heated the block at 1100 degrees for a given time, then let it cool to ambient, and repeated the process a few times. the block's deck surface is a dark color now, looks kinda cool.

That's case-hardening it. We do that to dies when we make them.
