I didn't change the shaft seal when I put on my new plastic pulley. It's got 220,000+ miles on the pump... doesn't leak. Now the hoses to the rack... they seep, but don't drip or spray unless I add too much to the reservoir. That and my oil pan gasket are the ONLY leaky parts on my car. Oil pan is starting to leak bad now and leave spots on the pavement.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

Looks like your working with a Mig welder... Finally... Those are probably the better of the many welds I have seen on some other custom builds, still a little bit bubble gummy, but not splattered everywhere. Too many people use flux core welders and the outcome sucks, at least appearance wise, granted it typically still seals.

They make a spray you can spray on parts to keep spatter from sticking to bad.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

Yeah, I've heard of that spray but never tried it yet myself. Still, the shielding gas is still more important to have working properly, for the strength and integrity of the weld more than for splatter reduction.
Anyway, progress looks good. That is gonna be a sick turbo setup when you are finished!'97 Grand Prix GT 3800 (sold)

I'm not disagreeing with you. I never meant it was a replacement for shielding gas, but it would help clean up what spatter did happen to land. I've seen the stuff used. Spatter scrapped off pretty easy with a putty knife.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.
