A while back I swapped out my small-port intakes for intakes from a 3400 1997 Chev Venture. While being 3400 intakes, the upper intake is still not as good flowing as the 2000+ 3400.
As most of us know, the EGR routing is different from 99 and down, and we've either had to get an adapter or an exhaust manifold if possible to make the EGR connect.
Last night I got my 2002 3400 upper intake and put it in place of the non-marked 1997 3400 UI.
The new intake came off a motor with only 6k, and the EGR valve came with it... to make it work, I used my original EGR tube and simply bent it up to meet the port on the new manifold.
I drilled a hole through the mounting plate of my stock EGR tube that lined up with the back of the new EGR... 2 gaskets, one stock bolt and 2 washers and PRESTO! She fit just fine. No leaks... no adapter.. fuck I'm a genius.
Anyways... thats all I have to say about that. I think it must be luck that the 99 Malibus' EGR tube can be manipulted just so.
