  • Help me choose injectors

Fuel setup: Everything stock for a 1994 beretta.
Engine setup:Stock internals 3500. Good exhaust and 65mm tb, cai.
    Stock computer

Im looking for some injectors to run the 3500 on untill I build and install megasquirt to tune.

I currently have 3.4 dohc injectors, but they don't fit my rail? Well they fit the rail, but those clips will not work. PLus there a tad bit longer than my stock injectors.

Im thinking some 3400 injectors would get it running... What year would you reccomend with my fpr?

the DOHC ones work and fit fine..

the tabs that the rail bolts to are slightly lower on a 3500 than they were on your 3100.

to make the clips work just run the injectors across a hacksaw blade to extend the clip groove all the way around, i did that and they've been working fine in a built 3400 for over a year. You don't really need the clips though, once the rail is bolted in the injectors aren't going anywhere.. lol

Only time I've heard of a leak with out the clips is on Scot0999999999999s turbo setup.

You could put washers to raise the rail up too on the 3500 LIM. I don't think it will hit the UIM, cause I have a 3400 LIM and they don't hit my 3500 UIM.

Oh and don't go too big of injectors on a stock ECM. It will flood out at idle and run nasty. Stock injectors won't wash the cylinders. But don't go WOT just drive gently since it will go lean at WOT and won't be tuned at all. You might be able to get away with 3400 injectors since they are only a little bigger.

Well I would rather have it rich then lean. What would cause it to lean out at wot? I would think bigger injectors would be rich across the board.

I guess I can try them without the clips. Ill see how they fit tomorrow.

im running the 28lb series 1 3800 injectors without the clips and mine dont leak.
they actually have the slots cut into them for clips but of course there cut on the srong side due to coming from a 3800 where they clip to the rail and are positioned differently.

youll be fine without the clips as long as the rail is bolted down there not going anywhere.

96-99 3400 injectors would work and you could use the clips plus there only like 2lb's bigger than the 3100 ones.

It could be rich as hell at idle, and cruise, washing the clyinders and dumping raw fuel into your oil, but since it's not tuned still be lean at WOT. Especially since at WOT it sets the fueling to what it has adjusted at cruise. So if it's too rich at cruise it will pull fuel trims, then when you go WOT, guess what? It's pulling fuel there too. You gotta get it tuned before you drive it around.

                  Alright...
I put the 3.4 injectors in today, without the clips.

Im using a 3100 UIM and tb for now just for ease of install and to make sure everything is ok. The rail cleared the 3100 uim fine, i used 2 washers.

I need to get a ms built.

Barry don't know. Shoot FF a PM.

I took the car out tonight after tidying up some of the TB install stuff. Put an e-clip on to hold on the cruise, re-did some vacuum lines and got rid of my vacuum T since the TB has vacuum ports. And yeah, it hauls balls. It moves on the hwy!!! I can only imagine what your motor will do.
