all new bearings, get the crank balanced, get new rod bolts put in the rods, new gaskets...u can use fel pros new HST9071pt1 for their heavy duty head gaskets. also get some of their new LIM bolts...es72226 also their head bolts if you want them, or go with the ARP ones off wot tech. also ull need the conversion kit, which will do the rest of the engine under the heads...its cs9957...you can also throw in 2 dowel pin sets mm23398 or es74013. if you want to upgrade to the metal LIM gaskets, that is ms98003t...then you will have some extra stuff. get a new T stat and a good GM seal for it...pn 10226107. then get your rods shot peened by a good machine shop. after that then you can get your assembly balanced properly. you may want to get some better rocker arms, and by better i mean just newer...they are all the same. if they are 10mm i have a set of them for $30. If they are 8mm, ull have to go GM or ebay or sometimes they are on here too...then ull also want to look at valve springs, the comp cams 26918 or 26986 are A+, then you can use your stock retainers or go with some comp ones off of here, like the titanium ones 772, and maybe some hardened steel locks if you dont trust urs...623's. Then its on to pushrods, get them with the cam. then timing sets. GM or cloyes area it, besides the Double roller from TCE, but that would require some crank modification. it is seriously worth it though. While you have the crank out and at the machine shop getting balanced, and getting the jounrals polished/nitrided/chamferred, then get them to cut the snout so the DR chain will fit. that would be the best. then buy a new silencer from Cloyes...9-5388, then have all ur alum parts vatted. clean them up. get a new oil pump (regular duty not high volume) and pickup. check out the balancer and make sure the elastomer looks good and the timing ring also, then look at the flywheel and make sure its ok. then its on to intakes. get em off the store here. throttle body, same thing TCE 65mm. also make sure to have a very good supply of locktite. also make sure to get the expansion plugs for the engine. have plenty of RTV (black or gray) on hand as well. you will prob want to change to new lifters, even though they are hydraulic, they can wear too. get some regular ones, either from GM, Melling, or Sealed power, then get some old LT1 or LS1 lifters, take the 2 springs out of the LT/LS lifters and put them in the new lifters you just bought. that will help with high rpm and keep it bouncy for a good idle. thats all i can think of in one sitting

sweat thanks one more question would the LSx springs i have now work on a 3500 head? i do have the cut down retainers for them (currently on my 3800 heads) also word a L67 TB be to big? (trying to utilize as many parts as i have for i am a cheap collage studant)

never mind they will they are what they cal the 105's one step better then the stock LS6 springs also on a small side note the Stage 4 N/A cam with push rods is cheaper then the cam (just the cam) i got for my 3800 (don't know if i should be glad or pissed really lol)

the TB flows (a bought) 611cfm

i guess you can use ur TB, but its a crappy design...has the MAF and everything else just all together, and the TCE is alot nicer piece. also you can use the LS springs because they are the same design as the 3400/3500 springs and the newer engines also. just make sure they will handle a larger cam without coil bind. you use the same retainers as what came on the 3500 or some LS series retainers, they are the same as well. or get some comp retainers like the 772 titanium or the 774 steel ones...
