  • Spark plugs and gap

I'm about to drop my engine in the car and i have a couple of spark plug related questions. The engine is a 3400/3500 hybrid, 11.5:1 CR and most of the rest is in my sig. I bought AC Delco Rapid Fire plugs to fire it off and break it in. I'm running OBD1 and MPFI with a tune The questions are:
    1. Wihth this set-up what would be the best gap?
    2. What plugs are everybody else running in their cammed 3500s or hybrids?
    Ideas please.

ditch the rapidfires and either go with stock delcos or Iridiums.. the rapidfires don't last in a waste spark system.

.060 seems to work fine for me

I run the iridiums, they're like $6 each but well worth it. they're self cleaning and last forever.

Any AC delco factory spark plug offered in a 3100, 3400, or 3500 will work good. I run the 94 3100 plugs cause they are cheap plain plug and seem to last a long time regardless. Easy to clean them off too if you foul them up. Might want to go with those until you get the engine dialed in then you can do iridiums if you want. Check out this article I made:

Manifold-back 2.5" SS Mandrel Exhaust. Hardware is SS too.

You cannot gap iridium if you decide to buy them. The slightest scratch to the surface and they will wear out fast. Or you may just break the tip right off.

However with higher compression you are limited to a smaller gap. Don't try and go crazy you don't want any misfires.
