  • Need Better Cylinder Heads

I have a 95 firebird with the 3400 engine. My heads are shot, so I want to upgrade them. I heard I can take heads from a 3100 engine and use them on my ride. Also I would need an intake manifold from a 3100 to complete the swap. Has anyone else heard of this swap? And does it work? (I heard this swap would improve effeciency and add horsepower -about 50hp-)

3500 heads and intakes would be your best bet, but there is more to it than just swapping the heads. ForcedFirebird would be the man with all of the answers to your questions.

You have a 3.4L with iron heads and you want to swap in newer aluminum heads?

yes. I've read that the iron heads and intake manifold are just too ineffecient. And I've heard you can take aluminum heads and intake off of a fwd 3100 (or higher), and have better gas mileage and a bit more hp.
