hmmm, 20 psi is alot.
i know that there is people got 204 whp ( 230 crank hp ) on a 3.4l N/A. how hard is it to push it to lets say 270-280( crank hp ) then ?
and yeah, we are driving 95 and 98 octane fuel here in norway.
Loner's car is about 300hp based on his times and he's got 6psi - but also a 3400/3500 hybrid.
If the car doesn't run now, your best bet is to see if you can find a used 3400 and put that in. Your tubo kit will take little modification to work on the iron headed motor
do this to the irons to even think about upper 200hp range
with boost of course
You can get 200hp with boost without porting. There are 14sec 3.4-powered fbods under boost with no porting, and you need at least 300hp to make a 14 flat in one.
Personally I would get a 3400 and go from there. There are probably some die hard iron head guys here, but they're heavy, and don't flow as well as the aluminum heads. (that's if you ask guys who machine race heads). You can blow enough boost into the 3.4 to get the 300 crank hp you want, but why not start out with a better engine?
You may or may not know 10 times what i do.
ASE Master certified. Just means I can take tests. GM ASEP Graduate.
95' Z26, ported/cammed 3400/3500, OBD2, 282, T3T4. Boxes almost all empty..
the reson i want the 3.4l pushroad is because its plug and play. And its easy to get here in norway.the 3400 isnt. 300 was the goal, but im good with 250-270 also.
Heads ported, polished, decked (shaved, 9.4:1 ratio) with SS valves (5-angle valve job) and Comp Cams 1.52 roller tipped rockers / heavy duty pushrods with Trueleo ( custom intake ) , accel 19# injectors, modded "Y" pipe and some good tuning will put get aprox 205.8 HP and 212 ft/lbs torque at the wheels ( and about 230 hp at the crank ).
so to get 70 hp from a turbo is not a longshot.. The comp on this setup is to high for a turbo i guess. Maby some forged pistons. with a little boost and a good tuning.

Many people have turbo'd stock 3400's and they have around 9.6:1
