  • Fiero 3400/hybrid Help

Hey, i need help figuring out if this build will work... Its an early 80's 2.8 freshly rebuilt with flat top pistons, zero deck. I want to use a gen 3 3400 topend and was wondering if id have any valve clearance issues? I dont have the exact profile of the cam but i think its slightly smaller because its an early 80s motor.. Its actually my friends car and he says he has the profile of the cam if you guys need it. The point is , we want to raise compression and use the big port topend with a distributor for now and an external fuel regulator. what injectors can i use, do i have to use stock inj. with stock ecm? First things first, what do you guys think? If anyone has done something similar to this, let me know if its going to work out or what we need to do... im pretty sure he's not ready to do the 7730 swap so i need a quick temporary solution to all this... He just wants the car to run decently for now until the computer swap. thanks in advance

Not going to work well without tuning, that's going to have extremely high compression. The iron heads have a 48(?)cc chamber.

Not only that, but the #6 runner almost completely covers the distributor hole in the block.

Or you can put a small block in there, like my neighbor

Just kidding, it's not really that practical - like the 3500 swap - Merlot just finished his, and it screams.

yea i know it does, ive been watching... but all i need is a 7730 swap and some tuning and it would work for the most part? I think the 3400 is from a 99 grand am.
