You can use any AC Delco 3100/3400 plug ever offered. I run the old plain ones in mine. You can do plain, plat, or iridiums.

For me, I stick with either the cheap delco's or if I am feeling frivolous, then I will get RAPIDFIRES. Platinums don't seem to last long for me.Taylor

I'd go plain, or the latest GM iridiums as they have been used for a long stretch and not changed by a new part number, so GM must be pretty happy with them.
On platinum and iridium coated tip ones, you can gap them, but you can't do it by prying on them as it will scratch the coating off. You have to grab and pull it apart to make the gap bigger instead of putting something between the two and prying.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

RAPIDFIRES are normally $4.99 each. I have always gapped them. I don't trust the PRE-GAPPED spark plugs. Those things get thrown around while being shipped, and I have yet to get a full set that were all gapped the same.
Lets put it this way. I just put 6 new plugs in my 3.4 DOHC. Of the 6, five of them I had to adjust, and 1 was fine.Taylor

you know, I never really looked into what makes the rapidfires so special. I know they would last longer than any other plug in my 3100 MPFI (high compression engine).
No, they are not dealer only. I get them at O'Reilly auto parts.Taylor

ACDelco RAPIDFIREŽ Performance Platinum Spark Plug
ACDelco's RAPIDFIRE Performance Platinum Spark Plugs offer longer life and improved efficiency over time as compared to conventional spark plugs.
Available for most vehicle makes and models, and several marine applications, the RAPIDFIRE Platinum Spark Plug design features:
Ribless insulator that may improve the plug-to-boot seal
Tapered center wire electrode with a platinum pad that reduces the firing diameter and helps improve the firing efficiency by concentrating and directing energy needed to fire the plug with less voltage
One-piece integral suppressor seal that helps reduce radio frequency interference, meters spark plug energy to help provide long electrode life, and seals against compression leakage
When compared to conventional spark plugs:
Reduced sparking voltage
Greater corrosion protection
Fits engines that run conventional plugs, as well as newer vehicles that require platinum plugs
Includes several marine applications
Three-year limited warranty*
that was from AC delco's website. napa has them for 50 cents more than stardard plugs. i think i may just get them. if i do i will post the part number for referencesigpic
