  • oil pump driveshaft

    i was wondering with spinning almost 8k and pushing the engine to the max if i should get a hardend or treated oil pump driveshaft for security... thoughts?

    The shafts would come hard already, If your that woried about oilling failure at high rpm goto an external belt driven pump, and dry sump.. Its good to be cautious, but hardening a shaft that small would make the whole thing brittle, instead of just getting the shell hard..

      Oil pump spins at half the engine speed. The shafts are pretty good on these engines and the hex drive is better than the slot drive on most other Chevy's.
