    Dog bone Mounts/Tranny Mount

    I want some type of stiffer dog bone mounts for my 3500... right now I have the 96 style mounts. What are my options? I know I can use old FFP mounts but then what do I have to convert to use that older style of mount? Right now one of my "strut tower brace" (whatever the brace is on the front of the engine that makes the dog mount mount) is modified for my headers so I can't get rid of those...

    I would love some poly inserts for my mounts, the way the stock rubber mounts are lets things move all over!

    As far as transmission mounts go, I have the stock one on (113k miles on it). I have a solid rubber engine mount, would I even be able to notice if I changed to a solid rubber or poly tranny mount?

    their is poly insertfor ur uppermotor mount on passenger side u maybe able to use from carcustoms.com

        Strut brace isn't an engine mount related thing. It's just a bar that goes between the strut towers by the fire wall to stop uni-body flex.

        You don't have the car customs style mount. That insert only works on L bodies and N bodies and newer cavilers. That is a side mount on the timing cover that the belt goes around.

        You have 2 front dog bones correct? Those don't support the engine, just keeps it from moving so that's the main thing you should focus on. Take one out and measure the rubber bushings and then check http://energysuspension.com/pages/univ1.html to see if ones are close. Might be too long but you can cut/trim to fit if you find the right diameter.

              Now can someone confirm that the mounts ARE the same between the 3800 and a 96 3100 w-body? I mean it looks the same from the pictures I can find but I have no newer GP's around to try to measure/compare.

                I looked up your car and compared it to a 98 GTP on oriellyauto and came up with similar part numbers. You might want to verify for yourself though.

                    It seems that this poly tranny mount for the GTP also fits the same part number as a 4T60E mount does... do we get to use this too? :-) (for quite a price...)

                      I put ZZP offset poly mounts (I'm lowered, GMPP Koni Kit) in my 01 MC SS, and the vibration is something that you'll need to get used to.

                      I have the intense mounts on my 3400 MC. I couldn't be happier.

                      Here's a video of the vibration. Wait til the end when I set the camera on the dash.
