3500's o2 sensors

  • 3500's o2 sensors

    can they be used with obd1? i thought i read that that they had been changed or wouldnt work for some reason?

    i could look up the numbers on the few that i have from 3500's but i wont beable to get my hands on my sensors till weds, and thats when i need to fire up the car.

    can anyone advise?
    3500, 1280 cam and PR, ls6 valve springs, port and polished heads, ported lim, ported uim, 4.3 70mm tb, ported trueleo headers and y pipe ALL FOR SALE (minus the car)
    96 LT4 6spd corvette. 355, AI 215cc LT4 Comp CNC Heads, Prope SRS pistons, Ported intake, ARH long tubes, Corsa Indy Pace 4:10 gears
    2012 Chevy Sonic Turbo 6spd
    1970 M35A2 Deuce and a Half, Spin on filters, Turned up IP, HIDs, Flat Black, 11.00x20 singles.

    They are said to be non interchangeable with the older style heated o2's.

      Yeah SuperDave was getting some weird readings with his and went back to 3400 one and was good after that.

        I'll test that again this year, i was having alot of other issues with the car at the same time.

        Basically it would bounce in and out of closed loop constantly, it did it for a little while with the 3400 o2 as well then fixed itself.

        the plug is slightly different for the 3500's o2, you gotta cut a notch in the older 4 prong plug so that it'll fit in.

            okay, well ill try the older style....

            anyone have wiring diagrams for one? i need to get one on my fiero so i can datalog faster

                The later model O2 sensor works fine for me. It will not if you don't have it connected properly. I tried with and without the heating element connected and it worked under both circumstances going into closed loop very quickly when powered up. Superdave has such a big cam that maybe the rich fueling condition he had early on cooled the sensor too much or maybe there was a bad connection because once my datalog showed closed loop it stayed that way with exhaust gasses from only 3 cylinders.
