On the contrary, it's the tune. The car has over 540,000 miles on it with it's 3rd engine. The stock TBI 305 was changed over to the TPI and run by a Ford ECM (MAF). Then he went with a 350 and converted the GM TBI ECM to TPI with a MAP. Then he thought he blew the engine and had a 327 short block laying around, but turned out the 350 just broke the timing chain (thinking it was a rod, changed the short block). Using the parts he had made the current engine, this one using the Holley Commander. I'll have to ask, but I believe it's using the stock cam...

Talk about a sleeper. When he starts it, it reminds me of when DOC raced Lighning McQueen on the dirt track in "Cars". Smoke comes barreling out of the pipes, lol. BUT, from a stand-still it will light the tires for nice long way.

He complains about the top end, though. The TPI is capped at about 1100CFM making it a dog after 5k.

Well I'm keeping it simple and Ben simulated about 290hp (crank) with the setup I have going... stock 3400 lower, gasket matched 3500 top end 65mm TB, SS headers, and stock compression which I think works out to 8.5 or 9:1 with the 3500 heads, I'm not sure and I never whissled it.

Either way I'll be pushing N2O on top of that so yeah... 290 crank n/a is a nice starting platform... LOL

Moonwell's making around 240 WHP on a stock 3400 bottom end (9.5:1 SCR), MMS stage 2 cam and a ported 3400 top end/3500 UIM and some longube headers.

That's about 280 crank HP running 13.8's and it still gets over 30 MPG on the highway
