  • botom end ?

    how much power can a stock 3400-3500 crank take ?
    does offset grinding the crank weeken it ? and how much ?
    how good are the stock 3400 rods what power can they handle ?
    where to you guys get forged pistons and how much ?

    and i am sure there will be more questions as i get stuff for my build i want to know to make sure i dont have to buy the same part twice and what not

    my 3400 crank took 358 whp to the ground. thats almost 420 ish at the crank. i did more mods to it and made 20 odd horse more so it can take some abuse!! the crank was straight and the bearings looked good afer 17,000 miles of a 19year old beatin the shit out of it.. theres no need to offset grind a stock crank unless u plan on running custom rods or pistons. for pistons go to wiesco. stock rods are "forged" from the factory.. a little shot peening and arp hardware i can see them handling 500+ reliably. custom pistons arent really cheap.. but i do have a set w/h beams for sale.

      Agreed. They are stout enough in stock form to handle all the power you can get from a streetable motor.
