Piggyback Megasquirt for simplicity. The ICM is looking for the same signal as the HEI would recieve on a Gen1 60* (with a distributor). Then use the MS to control your fuel and leave yhe stock ECM hooked up - and just splice in a "t" for the sensors to go to both computers. The only bad thing is MS can't be mounted underhood like your stock ECM is, but DIYAutotune.com sells a nice pre-made harness with labels running the entire length of them to avoid confusion (18" and 12' lengths last I looked).

If you learn tuning first it will be easier to do the mods later. I did things the other way around and have learned my lesson, lol. Blew my 3.1 twice trying to get the proper fuel under boost.

Some sensors you can't share with 2 ECMs. But that's no biggie. The MS comes with it's own MAP anyway. Yeah you'd piggy back so you'd still have your gauges/etc.

thanks marcellis wallis/duke of new york. but here comes a relly dumb question, so i pull my motor, pull the top end off, pull the cam off, pull some other stuff off to replace gaskits and stuff, put the new cam in, put the new top end back on, piggy back the MS, but thenwhat? how doi tune it? how do i know what A/F ratios to use and stuff?

Go to MegaManual.com and read the section on wiring. Keep in mind the ICM can be hooked up just like a distributor.

I would keep the stock pistons unless you want to get more milage from the motor. I don't know how long the 11.5:1 will last but it certainly would make more power.
