What about stock replacements? Would they work? Anyone know where I can get some that are .030 over? I contacted Gmpartsdirect, just waiting for a reply.

I did find ones that said cast...but they have hyp. in the discription or they are flat tops.

Arias claims thier high silicon forged pistons only need 5 thou of clearancing cold, and thats all they will swell, 5 thou.

I have seen stock pistons take alot, as long as you dont boost the shit out of it and keep your revs down you should be ok for a while.

Your tune and mix is what will keep it alive.

Well im going threw Weisco for my pistons. After a bunch of emails and me setting up the order they say that they are not "comfortable" making the pistons with the info that they have...which is fine. I dont want pistons that "might" work. So they asked me to send a spare piston to them, which is funny because I just sold the 3100 stock pistons I had So now I have to go to a JY and find 1 piston.

Ok, so the guy at Weisco is worried about the valve relief pockets. When I was talking to him I didnt know the cc's of the piston and the combustion camber in the heads. Does anyone know these numbers. I know that there aren't relief pockets, but I dont know the cc's of the pistons and heads. Thanks

IIRC 3400 heads have 26.4cc chambers and the 3100 pistons have 28.6cc.

                  3.1 has 11cc pistons and 3.4 has 8cc.

I want to be sure that the numbers are right.

They are "supposed" to be that, but people have measured slightly different on different occassions. You won't know your "exact" values unless you actually measure them. But those would be pretty good values to go off of.

What did they run you, if you don't mind?

Did you get floating wristpins, and what deck height did you use?
