nevermind I think I see why you did that, but wouldn't it be easier to try and change the way the TB cable is, but whatever works I guess.

And I'm guessing thats 3400 heads and lower intake?
Yes, I know that it is upside down. I wanted to try to get the stock cables to work...it was my first plan of attack, and the stubborn German part of me wouldnt let me try to change the cables.
And yes that is a full 3400 top end

Is a 3500 top end too much for your block? I can't remember which blocks have bore clearance issues with the 3500 stuff. Because unless you go the 3400 stuff for wicked cheap, I would have gone with a 3500 head and lower intake setup.

He has to stay with the 3400 chambers with a 3.1/3100/2.8 bore. It takes a little over .080" over to ake the 3500 heads work.

Should be interesting. He bought my old turbo kit for it as well (see post 5)

                I cant wait.
Tough part will be the tuning. Ive heard of two places near me that do dyno tuning, but that will probubly be mucho $$$. I could try it myself, but Id hate to mess things up...Although I still might, I have time to think about it and do my research.

So, while I am waiting to get my engine back from its surgery at the machine shop, I figured Id try to tie up some loose ends. Im looking at AFPRs. What pressure range whould be good for me? I bought a FMU (thanks FF), but after I get it properly tuned I dont know if I will need it anymore. I plan on running 6 PSI until I get it dyno tuned (hopefully right after I get it running), and then turning it up to 10-12 PSI tuned.
I know that I am forgeting to buy stuff I need, but I think that I have "most" of the bases covered. I still need to get fuel/oil lines and adapters, an ICM, a few sensors, and my tranny rebuilt.

                  The list is getting shorter

You should swap over to the 7730 ecm. I comes in most fwd obd1 660 cars. You have to do wiring anyways for the hybrid. Then you can run the tgp .bin and tune with Tunerpro RT and moates hardware. For what you're doing it's really the best thing other then a standalone (megasquirt, holley, etc).

He should have the 7730 1990-1992 fbodies cam with them.

I think Ive heard that before........and I seem to remember mopping the garage......

And yes I do have the 7730 ECM. Ive looked into burning a chip but I cant seem to get the grasp of it. I can read about it all day and it wont make sense, but if I see someone use it I will be able to pick it up really quick. Im still looking into it. Ive found everything Id need...just kinda clueless at this point about the mechanics and all the fine tuning.

ha ha! thats the first thing i noticed was the sheen on that floor..nice! Anyways, I'm surprised that you wouldnt drop in a 350 or some big motor like that... but i guess a turbo 3.1 is good... what kind of HP do you think you'll get, and what will be the HP to wieght ratio (how many lbs per HP)

You know what the funny part was....I was offered a 350 TPI for next to nothing. But if I were to put in a V8 I would want to put in an LSx. With my v6 I am hoping to put down more HP than the TPI had stock(245hp). I always see people just putting in V8s, so I wanted to do something thats different and that would turn heads...that and I like to go down the less traveled road.
As for HP...I am hopeing around 300 or more...but thats just a guesstimate. And I believe my car is about 3000lbs

Hopefully Ill be seeing my dads V8 Grand Prix in my mirrors

good luck with everything, I definitely think you'll turn heads when you say you have a turbo 6 in there, plus you'll be getting better economy then a v8 which is all important now adays
