  • 3400 headgasket on a 3100?

I'm just wondering if running the larger bore gasket on the 3100 will cause any mechanical problems. I know it will ultimately lower the static c/r a bit. Will the engine still have plenty of "cranking" compression? Will the fire-ring be too far from the cylinder?

    Thanks,
    Joseph

since people put 3400 heads on a 3100, i'll guess it's not a problem. Good question. I hope it's explained how the slight over-lap of combustion chamber to cylinder bore might effect things. I thinks it's very very slight though.

It's not a question of combustion chamber overlap. The combustion chambers are the same. I'm asking in the larger bore gasket will cause any ill effects.

      Anybody got an idea?
