Will a V8 starter fit on the side of a RWD 2.8-3.4? I just got done putting a factory replacement on this damn 4x4 and having to remove almost the entire front end to get to it next time I wanna put a gear reduction one on it if theres one that fits.

Yeah but its on FWD which my blazer is not and I'm pretty sure FWD will not swap out to RWD so back to my question please. Does anybody know of a smaller gear reduction for a 2.8/3.4 or will a V8 starter work?87 3.4 4x4 blazer

have you checked a late model F body with a 3.4L, I think they stoped the 60 degree in 98 in the f body. They should have and smaller gear reduction starter and its a RWD set-up68 El camino 454 speed muncie 3.90 posi 12 bolt,

Nope the Camaro starter is the same as the S-10. It was the same from the start to the end of production.
I don't think a V8 starter will work out of the box but it may be able to be modified to work. I don't think anyone has the answer for sure but you might want to go to the parts store and ask to see a stock 2.8L starter Vs A V8 starter.
