Thanks for the tip..didn't think about adding a cowl by itself. So 12 in. huh? So if I made a top half then I wouldn't need to mess with the egr setup? So 12 inches above that. That actaully seems very doable. Then a cowl to boot. Hmmm. By Goerge mate that awfully keen! :P

The EGR is on the top half, so yeah... you would have to mess with it.

Slowly making progress on my UIM. It still needs the end cap made and the final welding.

Thanks Colin... Im hoping it improves performance as much as it does the looks. I still need to port the heads, add LS1 springs, get a cam and make the billet valve covers. Have not decided on whather to rebuild the short block as it has 52k on it. Its a slow process since I dont have alot of money/time to put in it.

You might be able to use some data from this....

My guess is that you new design would yeild you 5-7 Hp...

                    Thats just a guess.

                    Good luck

You could make an adapter to use it but it would be a waste of time as the TB opening on the 3400 UIM cannot be opened up to 75mm. Also the inlet area just behind the TB flange isnt very large either.

I dont know what effect this manifold will have but it should flow more than the stock one. I am sure of one thing, the modded 3400 should have considerably more power than the stock 3100 thats in it now.

i think he was refering to his 3.4L DOHC plenum which stock they are 64mm or are they larger on the 96's? i know 92-95ish is 64mm stock. (i have a 3.4L DOHC t/b butterfly in an over bored 2.3L throttle body housing :P)

                          • i was referrring to the dohc, wil it bolt up? 75 sounds like a nice middle range number not to big or too small, i wonder on the availablity,

I misundertood your previous post.. lost I guess. As for whether it would fit, I have no idea as I have never owned a 3.4 dohc. Measurements could be taken from a manifold to see if it could be opened up that far and if the hole pattern is different, an adapter could be made.

I got the 75mm TB with IAC & TPS came from ebay for $25 & 10 shipping.
