  • When installing a Wideband Sensor

I bought a AEM 52mm gauge wideband gauge on ebay.

Where should I install a O2 sensor bung on my 95 Grand Prix. With S&S headers?

I'm guessing the downpipe would be the best spot. Is installing the o2 sensor too far away from the heads going to give a slightly different reading vs closer to the heads? I wouldn't think so but just curious.

Mine is right in front of where the stock cat would be... right after it curves under the car. If you read the instructions, it will say to place no closer than like 18" from the heads.

when we had my car on the dyno i was running my WMS wideband in the header crossover and the operator had his clipped into my tailpipe.. there was about a .5 difference between the 2. But yah, 18+" from the heads and preferably after the 2 sides merge together. With your headers that should be easy...

Leaving it in the downpipe is fine. Just find a spot above the 9 to 3 o'clock positions. If you keep it lower than that, you run the risk of water contamination.
