well my stock bottom end got scattered across the highway.... so far im $100 into this with the block and crank and i still haven't sold my 3500 cam or timing cover
its not just about all out power though... its about usable power, with this i'll still be able to drive it everyday on pump gas and then go to the track and dial it up a lil bit... this should have killer torque too

Get some forged pistons and Crower rods and your preaty much there. Doesn't matter if its a 2.8 or a 3500. Boost the shit out of it.
You can mate a 4t65-e or hop up the 4t60-e.
Try some slicks or even some wheely bars out back to keep the front tires loaded. Traction is key.88 Beretta GTU turbo . 90 Black ASC/McLaren TGP, awaiting 4t80. 2003 Grand AM se 3400/4t45 daily grind.

you can kinda see how i gotta launch it in this vid: http://media.putfile.com/in-car-vid-60
I've practiced launching in my old Mitsu and could keep the tach at almost a perfect 3500RPM (powerband) through the entire launch with the street tires only making a slight scrubbing noise.
I believe you could drop your 60' a little more.
