About 270whp is all you really need to run 12's in your typical W-body(I'm talking 1988-1996 year model cars). You will need a modified transaxle that will stand up to hard launches on drag radials and/or slicks though. 270whp + a good launch can get you high 12's with trap speeds around 105mph.

Kuntzie's Turbo Grand Prix had enough power with his old setup(larger turbo on a stock 3.1 engine w/ a 5spd getrag trans swap) to run well into the 12's. His car trapped 108mph in the 1/4 mile with 302whp.

Nitrous isn't cheating if it weren't for the consequences. I'm shootin for mid 12's by the beginning of race season

12's or bust 2008. If I can't get a 12 sec car i'm going l67. I'll have to retire my shirt, and I don't want to do that!

You sure about that? Superdave makes that whp in a much lighter car... and he's up in the 13's.

Kuntzie was 302whp BUT 409wtq. I think he said he ran 13's but had problems with axle's breaking but said it *should* go 12's or something to that tune

Yes, I'm sure. Chris(easytoremember) from clubgp ran high 12's @ up to 105mph with 267whp in a his 1995 Grand Prix GTP that weighed in at 3450lbs(with him in it) at the time of those runs. ET's take decent driving and good traction.

You guys with those lighter cars obviously have major traction issues because you always seem to put up good trap speeds, but with lackluster ET's. A lot of people run on street tires at the track and that definitely isn't helping things. Reducing your 60ft times makes a huge difference in ET's.

A buddy of mine had a l67 2002 GTP going 12.80's. he made good power, and for some reason that thing would hook up with just BFG drag radials

                    Yes, traction is very limited...

It's been done in Gen II's. Modified transmission though, weight reduction, good tune, and right track and temp.

Anyone have any imput on torque converter stall speed for a 4t60/3400 topend with t04b/t25 hybrid? If i get a higher stall speed is there any way it would help line pressure for stock TGP trans? I think stock is 1835? Thanks

I dont remember you talking about boosting or nitrous at all, and I highly doubt you will get anywhere close if you stay N/A. If you had a full on race car with some extreme weight reduction done, high compression and a monster of a cam, I think 12s could be had. Realisticly, and reliably, its not going to happen without a power adder though.
