That car must have run with water in it for that to happen, or maybe it was blown before it was pulled from the car-then water leaked in after the manifold was broken.

That's probably why you got the deal that you did, they charged you for a core engine.

it was fine on the botom end. the engine wasnt ran with water in it. there was only water in one bank and it sat with the water in it. it looks as tho the engine was crushed and left outside and thats how it got the water in there. there was no water in the oil, engine rotates fine, crank, rods and everything looked brand new.
im frustrated here, allprousedautoparts.com is the company that sent me the engine. they said it was good when they sent it and that when it arrived it had a cracked upper and lower intake and water in it. and they say it wasnt thier fault and it wasnt noted that it was done during shipping. but they gave me a 3yr 36K war on this engine. WTF
if this goes any further without a solution, im getting an attorney. this is pissing me off.

I wouldn't have touched it, just refused delivery. They knew it was messed up when they sent it.

Call them up and tell them what's up, let them know that if they don't exchange the engine for a new one that your attorney will be contacting them.

i have talked with them, and basicly they said they are going to contact the shippers to see if theyd amaged it. theyre trying to wiesel thier way out of it. i think im going to put it all back together and just get a new one. my father is an attorney, so i think i may just have to have him send some notifications to them, and maybe that will motivate them. if not, maybe is hould just proceed to a lawsuit and possibly get much much more than what this motor is worth.

Yes notifications will help motivate. Funny how a persons attitude will change when they know you are serious.

It's probably cheaper to buy a new valve then spend the time getting that re-ground to seal right. I could be wrong though, never had one that bad before.

i might be retarded but if this was me i wouldnt have even touched the engine let alone accept it being broken. if i bought an engine and it showed up like that i would have to whoever was dropping it off to take it and send it back where it came from.

now you have to spend more money on top of buying the engine to replace stuff that you shouldnt have to.

im assuming you bought this for the 3500 top end or were you going to use the whole motor.

call them up or send documents from your lawyer telling them you want a replacement engine or the parts that are broken replaced.

well theyre paying for parts, thats it. i guess that will do, i was going to tear down the motor anyway when i got it

this is for a full 3500 swap. and i did look at the crate when it came in, but most of the damaged area was wrapped with shrink wrap and i didnt see the damage till i got it un wrapped a day later. it was delivered to my dealership and i had customers waiting, i really didnt have time to look it over. to top it off they drove a full 18wheeler into our shop, (WTF!!) just to drop off an engine. i had to get the fork lift, get the engine out of the way and get back to my customers. so needless to say i went on the shippers word that it was all good. i tore into it after i knew it was damaged, but i called the salvager first to see his side of the story, he wanted to know the extent of the damage, so i dug as far as i could.
