Eh, you got lucky. Most vacuum leaks are a pain in the ass to find.

They told me before sending that the timing cover was broken. When I got it the TB horn had a piece missing and they left a big bolt sticking out of the front right corner of the oil pan. The bolt looks like it got snagged on something and broke tab off the pan. Didn't penetrate, though.

I'm unhappy with them now, and planned on using them more often, but you just sealed the deal. They told me that when they went to pull the other engine, it was stolen, and broke my timing cover. Well, you bought the engine and the one I got has been out of a car for a while evident by the rust on the inside of the bellhousing area. A also called them two weeks ago to get everything in order, and mentioned the ad on Car-Part for the $150 3500, and they said they have none that cheap. Well, they did and they sold it to it to you obviously. They're liars as far as I'm concerned, I'm also getting my friend's repair shop to stop using them.

Guess we know why it was $150 but they usually sell to mechanics that would have the old engine they were replacing to take broken parts from.

Also, you might want to go a little deeper into that motor in case water has been sitting on top of a piston for a while.

Makes me feel bad that I recommended them to everyone

You did get a good deal. The intake manifolds are worth that (in one piece ) I'm just angry with them because the way I was treated, and they acted like they wanted more business from the shop, but I don't know if that will happen.

Can't wait to see what everyones going to do with them now that so many of us have gotten one

it got worse!!!! 1 bent valve, one bank filled with water, milkshake oil.

after looking further into it, the valve was open when i took the rocker arms off, there was a piece of alum wedged between the valve and seat. when i pulled the spring the piece fell out and no damage on the valve or seat, yet the valve is bent.

the head gasket was fine, the water in the oil was from the engine being stored out doors. the engine still turns very freely. i know it wasnt hydrolocked because there was water only in one bank (the side that had the crack in the plenum) and the rods looked great.

got it all mounted on the cradle last night, and cleaned up. waiting for my money to hit my account so i can order the cam and tce reluctor wheel. im pumped!!!

are the valves the same size as the 3400?

no, the 3500 valves are lighter, however, they are the same size
