Looks like i figured out why the 3500 was smoking so bad...
3 of the valve seals on the front are pulled off the guides.
And now, Compelling reasons not to use SBC Copper shims as spring seats...
I figured that the springs would stay centered, guess not.. that's probably what pulled the seals off the guides. I apologize to all the people i told to do it this way, Others still haven't had problems but it only takes 1. Luckily there was no real carnage.. just a little extra valvetrain noise and some burnt oil.
I guess i'll be ordering LS1 seats and a new set of valve seals this winter..
