The straight springs spin around a lot. The beehives still move around. Remember, that comp video was at 1 RPM point consistantly.

Dang, at least it isn't too bad.

I'm glad I used all stock stuff aside from the comp cams springs, which required nothing more than the springs themselves.

either place is cool to order from. ive ordered from both and they ship fairly quick so your not waiting forever.
i went with the info on this page from grandamgt.com i need to get off my ass and finish the engine so i an enjoy it.

when i did mine i removed as little as possible and found a socket that fit over the nub thing the valve stem comes up through. i can say one thing theres no way there coming off the head.

Well Dave, thanks for the info. Now that I need to run valve seats instead of the brass shims I'm deffinitely going to buy the Comp Cams springs as I know the LS6 springs will bind with the lift of my cam. Good to find that out now. And thanks to geldartb for posting the link for the shim/seats.

People say the 2.2 seals are better. I bought a set(two actually-come in a box of , and they are the same seals as a couple of Chrysler and GM motors.

I have the part number in the garage, I can grab it if you need.

do these have a tighter seal on the valve stem.

i think i remember someone saying something like that.

Dave has issues with them because he used the flat shims and the spring walked enought to het the seals.

Part number in a few minutes, got to finish cooking for our family of 6

They're better because.. they fit. the 318 seals don't fit the valve stem very tight and let oil past causing exhaust port sludge, excessive carbon buildup in the cyls and smokey startups.

Mine popped off because the springs moved over and hit them, the ones that hadn't been pulled off were just fine.
