  • 3.4 DOHC injector questions

I have some DOHC injectors for my 3400/3500 engine build and the part # is17090844. I went to this site http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tableifc.htm#ROCHESTER to check the flow rates and they are supposed to be rated at 29.7 LBS. at 43.5 LBS. fuel press.
Is this correct and does anyone know where I might verify this?

No its not. He's using the injectors for his 3400/3500 build, so it qualifies for this section. Let's see what I can find...

      94 DOHC injectors are rated 21# @43.5psi (http://go.delphi.com/CS/DPSS/CATALOG...Number=FJ10009)

Appears the 96 are the same... Not sure if that PN cross references to a Delphi injector though.

These are Rochester injectors and the engine that I took them out of was supposed to have came from a '95 Olds. The part # is stamped around the top of the injector. Ben said he believes that I would need around 28Lb. injectors for my mods, so I am thinking about getting a 43.5 FPR. The FPR that I have is 55bs. and it would jack the injectors up to approx. 33.4 lbs. which may be to much. What do you all think?

DOHC injectors are 21-23# range, that much I know. No way they got 28#. 4.2 trailblazer are 28# at 55psi.

Well, I checked a few other places and found out some new info. The Rochester fuel injector #17090844 is rated at 29.7 lbs. (312cc) at 43.5 lbs of fuel pressure. Two different sites said that the were used in the 3.4 DOHC engine, but most sites just listed the part # with the flow rates and the hp that the inj. should make at various BSFCs and a couple of different duty cycles. I AM NOT SAYING THAT THESE INJECTORS DEFINITELY CAM FROM IN 3.4 DOHC FROM THE FACTORY. I am sure that Ben knows more about the DOHC engine than I do as I have never owned or worked on one (your the man Ben). I really don't know and am only concerned about the flow rating of these injectors. Do you think that they will work ok or will they be to much? If the would be to much I have a set of Rochester #17095004 inj. rated at 24.75/43.5 FP that I could run at 55psi and they would flow 27.83. Which would be best? I have learned so much from this site and want to thank everyone who has helped me.
