  • quick question on 00+ 3X00 UIM gasket

does anyone have one they can give me a measurement off of? I'm just looking for the length and width of the port. I don't have mine apart at the moment, and I'm heading out of town for 3 weeks on biz, so I don't have the time to pull it apart and measure.

thanks in advance if anyone can help!

    Length : 2"
    Width : 1 5/16"

That is from a CAD drawing that I have that was created by a CMM file from a 3400 lower manifold. So that should be fairly accurate.

Cool. So would that be the size of the gasket opening, or the manifold?

Since it was done from an actual lower manifold, I would say that is the manifold dimensions. Add ~1/8" to 1/4" and you'd get the gasket opening size.

          Thanks for the info.

Would it be safe to say that the manifolds could be ported out 1/8" all around (total of 1/4" overall length and width increase)? I'm working on a custom UIM, and I want to go with the largest opening possible, and port the LIM to match.

Let me see if I have a spare gasket around somewhere...

don't go digging if it's not handy.

I've been doing some calculations based on the info you gave me so far, and I think I can do well just using the 1/8" removed all around from the walls. I'm going to be starting with round tube and from the numbers I've been playing around with, 2" ID pipe should work perfect for the extra 1/8" all around. If I could remove 3/16" all the way around, I would be able to use 2 1/8" ID tubing, but I highly doubt there is enough material in the LIM to allow that much porting.

2" sounds right. I started working on a custom plenum a few years back and I'm pretty sure I was using 2".

The metal UIM gaskets are 1.5"x2.2" aprox. 3/16" bigger than the port, and there is plenty more room to go bigger if you are making a gasket.
