Todd Johnson used the Eagles.....but I havnt heard from him in a while....never found out if the beast he was building ever got finished............he hasnt updated his groomlakelabs site in quite a while.........cant go wrong with Eagle......the best according to a lot of old timers.
Who are you considering going with for the pistons?
not sure yet, maybe ross but who knows... im kinda leaning towards the eagles myself cuz they seem stronger but the extra expense kinda sux, i found some large journal rods for only $350 on ebay though so i guess ill keep looking around every once in a while
i got some eagle rods on ebay really cheap. i had the pistons bored to fit the .927 wrist pin hole. the two weigh almost the same. i still need to have the big end of the rod machined but at 15$ a rod thats pretty good..

Thats a great price....are they a 5.7" SB Rod...and are your pistons forged and where did you get the pistons?
I got eagle 6" H beam rods in my 3.4. Think they're an over kill unless your making over 400 hp, but good insurance. Had to add metal to the crank to balance the assembly. I was wanting to add nitrous to the motor and this was to beef up the bottom end. Also have ross custom forged nitrous pistons in the mix. My c/i heads are the killer, thinking of going to 3500 or 3900.
they say 700 for sb v8 applications but we're running v6's, so essentially making more power per liter which means the threshold should actually be lower... atleast thats my theory so im hoping these will get me to 500-600 boosted and a lil over that with a few things im planning (not nitrous, i'll already be using a spool shot but that wont add much to peak power)
You will most assuredly want to balance the assembly. The rods will need slightly milled on one side, and you will need tangs ground in for bearing placement. You will also need to notch the inside of the block for clearance. (pics on my web site). Also, new (custom) pistons are a very good idea.

Are those pins not floating? I would imagine pressed pins would be bad due to the oiling holes for the pins.
