  • well maybe I lied when I said it goes in Monday... I got the 3100 out, with no problems. Just a little trouble cause I forgot about the 3rd bolt on the tranny/engine bracket. haha but its sitting on the stand right now. I just need to transfer a few things over to the 3400, clean things up a bit, and take care of the power steering fluid, and she'll be ready to drop in!

        • yeah Im hoping to either get to drop it in tomorrow, or first thing Wed. But well see how everything goes. Ive got the whole week to do it so Im not concerned about a strict schedule.

I didnt get to go WOT, however I got it up to about 4500-5000RPM, and yes, BIG difference. Just throughout the whole RPM range, it doesnt matter what gear its in, when you step into it, it just doesnt seem like it struggles to get going anymore.

I know this vid really sucks, but its a SECOND gear about 3500RPM, and it was pulling pretty good. From like 10mph to about 40ish

          • Hmm The vid doesn't help me much cause I have a lighter car with different gearing (taller) and large ports/3500 upper. But if you say it's a big difference over stock then hell yeah. I just wish exhaust was something I could do myself. Defiantly on the list. If you got power down low too that's crazy cause that's where my car lacks until 3k. Larger exhaust you'd think would help out the high only and not affect the low end much.

            • well the stock down pipe was only about 1.25"-1.375" so any improvment on that will help out no matter the car/engine. On mine, from about 2500RPM and below it was comparable to stock, but beyond that, it helped out a ton! Like even in overdrive on the highway, you step into it, and it doesnt take forever to speed up.

              • Yeah I noticed that locked up in 4th with the big intakes it would actually pull and speed up instead of not moving and having to unlock. Great news there, that will help with MPG on the highway going up big hills!

                • I think your car would probably benefit more than mone with the bigger exhaust. Your pulling more into the cylinders than I am ( was ) so you need the room to get rid of it more than I did.

Thats another thing... after the exhaust, my car is better going up the hills! before I used to have to get a running start haha

                  • well problem.. I need to know about this ASAP... the oil pan on the 3400 doesnt have a sensor on the bottom of it like the 3100 oil pan does... do I need to swap pans?

                    • You can if you wish. Also depending on the year 3400 the bolt boss for the A/C might not bolt up. But the sensor is just low oil level. You can put it on without it, but that sensor won't report obviously.

                        • Why not swap em? 2004 engine pan might not get the 3rd bolt of the A/C compressor to go in. So you'll be hanging with 2 bolts and it will chatter some vibrating...

                          • The 3400 oil pan that was on there had every hole I needed to bolt things up. Everything went without a hitch except for the tranny-engine bracket... what a PITA that was!

But heres some pictures for you guys:

Only things I need to do are wire up the 3-wire CTS, finishing plugging in the wiring harness, fill with fluids and turn the key!

                            • So the A/C compressor bottom bolt went in? Good. Maybe it was just 2005 3400's that they moved it.

Looks fantastic! You need to clean or paint that TB! hahaha. Gonna fire it up tonight then? It took me a second to figure out what the green tape was for... hehehe I'm too used to working on these motors I know all of the plugs :P

                              • haha yeah I just wanted to make sure I knew where everything went. Last thing I need is to forget things ( which I do often ) like what bolt went where. What you dont see is the bags upon bags of stuff which is labelled

As for the TB, I plan on getting the TCE 65mm, so that stocker is there just to make it run until those get back in stock.

yeah the bolt holes where there. Only thing I did was run a tap down em to clean up the threads.
