that sucks to hear, is this recently? or for a long time, this crank was ordered around 2004/2005
for many years, starting around 2002/2003.
They have turned out some good products but there has been a lot of people with problems. Several failed engine builds including one that was supposed to be a stroker.
well, I appreciate the heads up. I would be pissed at an immediate engine failure. Since, I am not really well adversed on internals, what should I be looking for or tell my machine shop, because I know there is still some clearencing to do with the crank and block......
You should be blue-printing the whole motor anyway. Look, you may have someone else machine it and even someone else assemble it, that's fine, not everyone has their own personal machine shop in their basement. But, always double check! Besides, if you going into "new" territory you NEED to know exactly whats going on in their. Just bolting a bunch of parts together could be very expensive setup for a bad day of crying over rods on the pavement.
Spend the few dollars for gauges, a book on blue-printing, and go over the whole thing.
sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:
A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.
I will be going over everything and double checking but i doubt this stroker will be running this summer, it isn't on my priorities with my wife and i's first child on the way.....
