so does any body knows if the 3500 manifolds flow that much better then the 3400 ?
enuf to make a swap or should i just get headers ?
headers seem like a big job to do so if the 3500 manifolds flow good enuf i just mite go with that
would there be enuf place to go under the oil pan with the front pipe because the 3400 pan is flat all the way ?

Yes the 3500 exhaust manifolds flow better. The shorty header style flow the best, with the next best is the crossover style 3500 ones. They are like 3400 ones but with MUCH bigger ports and tubes.

Also the 2005 impala 3400 exhaust manifolds are like 3500 ones with the cross over. (huge ports)

The mailbu/G6 header style ones would be best though. Better flow than the cross-over/log style.

Custom long tube equal length headers are best for power, but require lots of fabrication. I've heard on a jbody that if you use 2 front 3500 header style manifolds it will clear. I'm sure you could run an exhaust pipe under the pan lots of people on v6z24.com have done that when they made their own headers. (actually they ran 3 pipes from the header under there). You will loose some ground clearance though.
