Has anyone used one of these for racing? My concern is that it won't control the harmonic of the engine at high rpms being as light as it is. I don't want to give up durablity for a few pound of rotating weight. So if some one has used one, I would like to hear your thought on how well it worked.

I have had a FFP pulley on my 3400 Alero for years, and FWIW, it held up to the punishment of open track days (road course).

I was sort of wondering the same thing.

pisshh, it's fine. i have two no problems. know another guy making over 400 hp that shifts at 7200 rpm that looks at his bearings every year and no sign of problems. i wouldn't worry about it. there are many more 660's that have them than you think.

Did they have the engine balanced or were they using stock balancing. How often do they turn that many RPMS, If I run a 100 lap race that 200 times in about an hour. More details please.

no stock bal. very often, street driven and many 1/4 miles shots. well now you're talking all out racing. i wouldn't worry about that 8-10 ish HP you'll gain. that kind of racing and power plus high rpm on a regular basis i wouldn't go without a damper. lower rpm and power under 300HP i feel is reliable. i wouldn't bother with a UD pulley if i were you. not worth it if it should happen to ruin an engine for only a $125 and 8 HP!

Sweet, glad to see that someone took the reins once FFP stopped production. I was wondering if this would be a good place for me to start modding my engine next spring? I'm thinking about getting both the UD pulley and the alt pulley. Would this be ok with sounds systems as well?

Yes that would be fine with a sound system. You might consider also upgrading your alternator/battery system ground/power wire. Just replace with a larger gauge. This will help your sound system and prevent your lights from easily dimming

Thats a good idea, thanks. I'm thinking I'm going to start with those first before doing anything else on my car.

Anyone know how much a FFP UDP pulley weights? I want to compare to the MRZ one.

I dont know how much it is, but I'm pretty MRZ weighs less than the ffp.

MRZ has cutouts that would make it lighter, but not for much gain if any .

it has cutouts, plus it doesn't have the 3/8" of aluminum added to the front of the pulley(or however much it is), so both those things cut down on weight.

                                good point, MRZ's is thinner.
