  • 2.8 1982?

HI! first I don't speak a very good english and I'm from québec

Ok I have a firebird 1982 in very good condition and a 2.8 carburator and a TH-200.. my exhaust manifold passenger side is broken and I wanna change it but I ask if it is possible to modify the 2.8? and why a pacesetter header for the 2.8 don't fit on my motor.. because the head ? is just for the 1985-1992

And I love my 2.8.. very economic and smooth (80,000 kms) so if I can keep it I will be very happy.. I want to boost it but I don't know if this motor is strong to accept boost.. or any other modification..

    I hope you understand me..

    Thx all!

82 is a bad choice for modification. It had a weaker bottom end because of its small journal crank. If the manifold is damaged then you can buy aftermarket headers to fit the Camaro or simply replace the stock manifold with a used piece.

Try headman, and edelbrock for header options.

I believe that Pacesetter are the only company that makes headers for the 82-92 V6 Camaro.

Nope, pacesetter headers are the most popular headers for newer V6 camaros... plus I think they made some of the 3x00 engine at one point.

Pacesetters work well on the 82-92 Fbody. Torque fever, if you need a stock manifold, I have a couple for the drivers' side, and one for the passenger side, but you will run into the same problem you would with the Pacesetters, and that is the location/style of the EGR valve.

Who else makes them then. Pacesetter is the only company that I know of that makes them for the 82-92 60* V6. There are a couple of other companys that make them for the 4th gens.

It will bolt to the heads, but I don't know if the EGR valve is the same. When I gat home later, I will post a picture for you to compare.
