  • Newbie Question

Hi all, just found the site, and it looks to have some great information. I bought my 2002 Monte to have a dependable daily driver while I hot rodded my suburban. Now I want to know what I can do to up the performance on the car. There has got to be some way to get this thing to get out of its own way. Where should I start?

Car is a 2002 Monte Carlo LS with the 3.4L

Well, I just dropped $30K in mods to the suburban so the budget is a little tight right now. Lets say mods that would run under a grand.

Headers... 17whp gain from them alone. You can get them from S&S Headers (www.ssheaders.com) or TOG (www.theotherguysproducts.com). That'll pretty much be the best bang for the buck. Couple it with an exhaust system, and you'll definately be happier.

OK, all the headers I saw for the 3400 said they were for Monte's up to 01. Mine is an 02, did something change that would not allow them to work for my application? I e-mailed both TOG and S&S last week, but have yet to hear back from either.

Anyone here know of any reason why headers for a 2001 monte would not work for a 2002 model?
