  • 3.8 in grand am?

Can a 3.8 liter engine would fit in a 1997 grand am without any major issues? i wonder because both are available to me and i think that it would make for a sweet ride.

the 3.8l is a 90 degree engine and not discussed here.

fwiw the 3.8l engine will be a nightmare to get in there, best to just drop in a 3400 with a cam and you would be happy.

Again you've got the wrong forum if you are needing 3.8 L information. Anything can be done with the right amount of $$

The 3800 is a considerably heavier engine on top of it all. Your poor grand am would understeer even more and reduce the already too-little braking power. However I've seen a 93 GA (same platform) with a 3800 SC do high 12's in the quarter-mile.
