I have been watching threads around the board about diff. cams but not much on the 3.1. What would be a good cam to use as a dd but still make more power? I don't mind having it tuned. Also how hard of an install is a cam? What is involved?

Crane and Comp 260 grinds are both good for an otherwise stock engine. Tuning wouldn't necessarily be required, although you will always get more out of the cam with proper tuning.
As far as install, it is MUCH easier to install a cam with the engine out of the car. People have done it with the engine in the car, but to me, I would much rather just pull the engine and work on it on a stand than try to lower the cradle and then install the cam while confined to the wheelwell.-Brad-

Ehh I dunno, the cam comes out right smack dab where your fender making it impossible to get out without having the engine out, or dropping the subframe so the engine drops almost to the ground so you can get it out.SpudFiles

People drill a hole in the inner fender to get the cam out. Then plug it later with a rubber or plastic press in plug.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma
