  • Info Needed From "Hybrid" Folks

I need input from any of you who are running a "hybrid" top end on a Gen II motor, or who have upgraded injectors etc. I purchased Gen III injectors, rails, and wiring awhile back from a member of the board. I was hoping that these would sort of be "plug and play" on my rebuilt Gen II with Gen II intake, but it appears that isn't the case. It looks like none of the Gen II and Gen III stuff is interchangable. How did those of you who went "hybrid" hook the injector wiring up to the rest of your system? The connectors are totally different. Any input will be tremendously appreciated!

Man, I hate cutting and splicing wiring. I'm a banker, not an electrician. If I screw this up, the car could really be out of commission for awhile, and I can't take that chance right now. I think for now I may just stick with my stock Gen II injectors, rails, etc. Maybe over winter I can tear into it and upgrade to the bigger injectors. Since I am staying NA, the stock injectors may be enough to supply the motor anyway (even with headers and head and intake work). Sticking with the stock injectors will probably create less confusion for the ECM until I can get to you for retuning anyway.

The injectors that I was going to use I believe are part #25323971. I think these were for about a 2001 3100 application. I had deleted my original PMs from the seller, but I think they were only rated at a couple lbs higher flow than stock. I wasn't even sure that I needed them with my current motor, but the price was right, and I figured I would need them anyway if I ever decided to do a "hybrid" set-up myself.

You might just try to get an injector wiring harness from each of the vehicles involved and make the harness out of the car. That way, if something didn't work right, it wouldn't be that difficult to swap back to the original working harness.

He is using all gen 2. Stock injectors aren't going to support much over 160hp...
