3400 swap
here's a swap for all you 60 degree gurus!
I have a 1991 Isuzu Pickup currently with a 2.3L carb'd 4cyl. next summer i hope to turn it into a street/drag truck but I will need a swap motor to make it run decent numbers.
this truck did come with the 3.1L motor that was also in the Isuzu rodeo but to use one of those to swap is near impossible to find so I will be using a Camaro/Firebird based (L32 for those who may be lost) 3.4L v6.
i've found one for the swap but I've got a few questions which I couldn't manage to find the answer to on here either because it doesn't exist on here or i didn't find it.
(1) what is the horsepower and torque output of a stock engine?
(2) what upgrades are availble for this engine?
(3) who here on the forum has one of these engines really cooking? (give me some number if possible)
reason for these questions is i'm trying to make a final decision on exactly what to swap into this truck.
the 3.4 sounds great because it's a compact and shouldn't hurt my wallet too much with fuel consumption. if this just isn't plausable or it will end up being more work than it's worth I'll just build custom mounts and stuff a 305/350 engine in it.
any suggestion or comment would be appreciated. if you want pictures of what I'm working with I will supply them. laugh/cheers would also be appreciated.
