  • 3400 stroker ? anyone

hey i am in the prosess of putin a 3400 in my car and i was just wondering if there was a stroker crank for them anywhere ?
does a 3500 have the same crank just a biger bore ?
what about the 3900 would the crank from that be interchangeable ?

Only way to do it is get a 3500 crank (has larger rod journals) and get it offset ground to the desired stroke. Once that is done, there may need to be some clearancing done to the block and oil pan (as on the 3500) to ensure the rods don't hit.

And yes the 3500 is just bored out so using it by itself without modifying it won't do much. Also it has a 52x tone ring for the crank sensor so you'd have to change that somehow or use the external trigger sold here on the store.

Depends on what 3500 though right? The LX9 was a larger bore version of the 3400 (94 bore, 84 stroke) but the newer LZE and LZ4 3500s are 99 bore, 76 stroke, meaning they are at least a little bit more different than the LA1 than the LX9 is, no?

That 3500 (VVT) is a totally different animal (heads don't bolt up/etc). I have no clue if the crank would be backwards compatible. The 3500VVT is a destroked 3900VVT.
