  • Gen 2 questions??

    Have some questions about setuping a Gen2 3.1...

    1- What would be the comp. ratio if using a steel gasket from the Gen 1 RWD motor..

    2- What comp.ratio if using piston from RWD2.8 with a 3.1 Gen 2(Alum.heads)

    3- Comp ratio with the 2.8 Gen2 instead (with the RWD 2.8 piston..

    4- Is there a gain to use 3400 head with all the rest from a Gen 2 3.1. Would we have to use differents pushrod also..?

    5- Would the ECM be able to handle the rise in comp. ratio with those setup..

    6- If using a 3400 block and all of the top end from a 3.1 MPFI, what pushrods would be needed??

    4 : Yes and yes.
    5 : If tuned properly, yes.
    6 : Custom. But why use a 3400 block and MPFI top-end (unless trying to sneak something by a sanctioning body...)

      Thank s for the fast answer... CR calculator is fantastic...

      Can we use 3400 valve spring on a 3.1 Gen 2 head. They seem beafier but i Know that they are shorter...What about the pushrod???

        4) if using 3400 head you can't use gen2 intakes. Must use the 3400 gen3 intakes as well. Just clarifying that.
