Hmm That paint does look like anodized, cool!
LOL I was going to ask if you had a vacuum gauge next and what you were pulling at idle! Hey it does more than looks now, you can watch it to try and get good MPG. Then again you may go WOT even more just to see that needle swing haha.

Is your downpipe 2.5" now I forget you recently redid it I think.

Downpipe is a 2 1/2 collector from the headers

Whole exhaust is redone now with 2 1/2 same muffler, but with ONLY a cat underneath.. Nothing more.

I got 24.4 mpg on the highway with a cheap ass tune nothing really right, so I'm sure that will get better, and I'm already getting a few more miles to the tank this week... so thats good.

Oh btw, here is a new idle vid Just taken this AM.

I think it pulls about 14 15in/g at idle... and the idle is around 650 I'll double check that.

Nice, but I bet you'd pick up some power with a straight through muffler

That thing starts instantly.... Is that just because you have the new style starter on there?

sounds pretty mellow. 650 rpm? to me, it sounds more like 1000 rpm.

How much timing are you running at idle?

That was a requested 650 idle, I think initally it was slightly higher in that vid... Plus the SQ isnt the best since the rumble amost makes the camera mic useless... I'll try getting a DV recording of it then it should sound better.

Not sure why it starts instantly, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't...

I can't remember what that was for timing... I'd have to look at the bin file since i'm now using a 97 ecm.

and lilchief what do you mean by whats my theory? I just went with a Stage 1 milzy cam because it was avilable for cheap... and Ben didnt have his grinding equipment yet to provide me with one.

This is what I was talking about, I think your saying the cam has more duration than what's stamped on it. I guess, don't know, guess it doesn't matter

no I think its what its stamped at, I just didnt expect it to sound like that, and I guess others didnt expect the stage 1 to sound that agressive either.

Now since I put a 97 ECM in it cleared up my skip and it sounds totally different because its not struggling so much at idle to stay running from a skip. It was weird before.

97 ECM from what body? Are the pinouts the same? What is better about the 97?

I just went overboard with the duration on my custom grind and it turned out to idle decent and make great power...

Check my Bstuff thread. The advantage is with DHP the 97 ECM is a larger file containing more stuff to play with... and more tables are mapped out to work with. Remember you need to be OBDII to do this to begin with.

If I can figure it out wiring wise I can setup a "Performance Shift" button and have two sets of shift tables.

Hehe I checked it not long after I posted. Seems 97 is the magical year. I believe 98 they changed a bunch of stuff at least in GP's so makes sense that 98+ won't drop in like a 97 will.
