98 camaro swapping in lz9 th400 setup
LZ9 specs: (Subject to Change work in progress)
4.0L(after bore 3.917 and stroke 3.3485),carrillo sbc rods(narrowed),wiseco custom forged pistons 8.5:1 CR, TCE Double Roller timing chain, gen 3 cam, P&P heads, headers 1 3/4 primaries into 3-1 collector, and going to run ms2.
Coolant temp sensor was a custom job per my machine shop
Cam is a Milzy Stage 1 I think... Thats what it was sold to me as.
Cam Specs:
Stage 1 NA - .305/.308 lobe lift (.488/.493 valvelift),
209.4/213.1 duration,
110 LSA, 108 IC
Exhaust is S&S headers, hollow cat, Moroso Spiral muffler, Shitty 2 1/4 press bent rusted out intermediate pipe, and a flowmaster 80 series.
Fan was just in the way, its impossible to remove the front header with the fan in place.
I'll get some more vids once I get it tuned. Still have some other things to finish up.
Yeah I checked and it had the duration numbers written on it 209 and 213, so I figured it was right... I guess he has been known for miss labeling though... however if it was any higher of a lift I would have already had issues with coil bind, but I don't... Only thing I can think of is the duration is a little more than what it says it is.

Either way... sounds damn good!
I proved the duration theroy with mine.. these engines LOVE it!
You could get some HP freed up with a different muffler setup I bet. The spiral muffler probably isn't the best for turbulence and restriction, and I know the flow master isn't either. And your hollow cat isn't either unless you have a pipe going through it to keep the velocity the same. I'm running an ultraflo with no resonator (felt hp increase when I removed it actually) and stock pipe and cat and its an improvement you can feel.
The ultraflo is quiet at cruising if you have a tail pipe and tips on after it (mine fell off for a short while hah) and has a nice rumble/burble. I bet without the cat and bigger piping it would sound real nice and perfect volume. Mine is pretty short (about 1/3 shorter than the stock muffler) but if you wanted quieter get the longer model. The only restriction of flow in my exhaust is the stock cat and the 2" piping/downpipe. You can get the ultraflo in cross flow too so you can keep your duals. Got any pics of how the muffler is attached? I want dual Z26 tips
BTW I didn't know you dyed your interior. How is that dye holding up on scratches on the doors and stuff from passengers/etc?
What gauges are you running in the pillar?
Are those tie rods painted? Looks anodized like your old throttle body (was that paint?)

1994 3100 BERETTA. 200,000+ miles 16.0 1/4 mile when stock. Now ???
Original L82 Longblock with LA1, LX9, LX5 parts
Manifold-back 2.5" SS Mandrel Exhaust. Hardware is SS too.
Tierods are painted just like the old TB was, two stage fake anodize paint.
The interior is duplicolor vinyl paint, and it holds up just about as good as any other vinyl paint... Scratches if you hit it in quite few areas but still looks decent.
Pillar gagues are A/F and Vac (just for looks) BTW I'm only getting 15-13in/lbs now when I was getting 19 before the cam.
Also yes I know the exhaust sucks, It's getting treatment soon, since its rusted out over the axle, but it will be 2 1/2 high flow cat, straight back to the flowmaster 80... I know flowmaster isnt the best for flow but I like the way its setup and I think if I swap mufflers now its gonna be a pain in the arse to get a new pipe made, but we'll see, I'm not fully decided yet.
I think I mustered another 2 tenths at the strip once I went open header... My best was a 15.2 with the exhaust and I got a 15.07 with the open headers.
