  • Injector flow rates

Well I just picked up a set of Envoy injectors from ebay... 100 for the set of 6, appear to be brand new.

Question is, I see they are rated at 28.1lb/hr but witch hunter rates them at 245cc @ 3 bar which works out to 23lb/hr at 43.5 psi... and if I use their calculator, bumping the pressure to 55psi only nets me 26.1lb/hr.

Now the question is, are these rated at 28.1 at 55psi? Or is it higher. I have to double check but worse case I can try to run the regulator from the rail that I got just to see the pressure and then put my adjustable unit back on and adjust accordingly.

This is the injector I have

Who rates them at 245cc? Injector #25313185 is rated by Delphi as 3.54 gram/sec @ 380 kPa pressure. If you convert all that it should be 295cc/min or 28lb/hr @ 55psi. I sent some used ones in to RC engineering for a cleaning and flow testing and they came out at 250cc/min @ 43psi. At 55psi that equals 282 cc/min or 26.9 lb/hr. Still slightly short, but pretty close. Either I'm losing something in the math, or (more likely) the difference in testing machines and methods between the two companies is where the 1.1lb/hr difference came from. Either way they are definitely larger than stock 3400 injectors.

Ok, Witchhunter rates them at 245... But either way they are 05, injectors from a envoy with only 5 miles on them, so they should be good...

should I still send them out to be cleaned and flow tested?

5miles? I'd not bother lol. Save your money. But if you need to know the flow then perhaps. Or you could throw them in and tune until you figure out what they are... :P

With that low a miles I wouldn't bother either. I'd just put them in and start off tuning assuming they are 28lb/hr. There's not a whole lot of difference between that and 26lb/hr and you're better off starting rich than lean. You can always lean out the injector flow table a little if they seem too rich.

Sprucegagt found delco's listing of them. They rate them at 27lb/hr at a pressure of 350kPa approx 50.5 PSI

so that will be good for me

              55 psi would be 28.17lb/hr.

Motor is going in on Wednesday so I'll let you all know how it works out.

Sounds like they'll be plenty! I wish I had a fresh rebuilt trans and hybrid...
