Okay, first I would like to thank all of you that have replied to this thread. It has been very helpful.

However, I have decided to scrap the 3.1/3100 hybrid idea for now.
I just discovered the 24x and extra? 3x issue...

Mainly due to financial constraints. I do not have the budget to put the funds into this setup that would be required and I do not like to do a half-@$$ job!
Plus, this is going into my daily driver and I just do not have the time to wait on parts and try to adapt all of the things that need to be adapted.

I am going to just do things the cheap and easy way for now, going to run the 3.1 as a DIS with the aluminum heads and 3.1 intake setup.

I am very glad that the junkyard i go to takes returns
I am going to be heading to the j.y. tomorrow.

Is there a better car over another to get the ECM out of?

I am going to still be running the 4T60E trans...

    Sincerely,
    Don

Don't worry about the 24x crank trigger, just use a genII ECM and run the DIS, real simple. Minor wire additionns needed over all, when it comes to swapping in the new ECM.

Basically, I would be running it as a MPFI, yes?

I have a '7730 ECM on the shelf in the garage, but if I recall correctly, it is from a Corsica that had the 3-speed... I know it could work with the 4T60, but from what I have researched, not so well with the 4T60E. Am I mis-informed?

I am going to the 'yard tomorrow, will prob just pick up a '7730 ECM.

I have doen some research and the only cars I found that came with a Gen II 3.1 and the 4T60E are: 92-93 Grand Prix/Olds Cutlass or a 1993 Buick Regal.

Is that coincide with what you all think?

            Thanks!

The 7730 will not work with the 4T60E but you could use a 16149396. It is basically the same as a 7730 but has additional RAM to control the trans. You are just a little late as there was one with a wiring harness for sale in the B/S/T section for $60 shipped. http://www.60degreev6.com/showthread.php?t=34791 I am swapping to a 9396 that I picked up on Ebay. I believe it came from a '93 Buick with a 3.1 and 4T60E. They were also used in DOHC models from '91~'93. Here's a link listing applications of various ECMs. http://www.cruzers.com/~ludis/p4xref.html

Wow, very rough day. I did find a 16149396 ECM, out of a red car . I think it was a berreta. All I can really remember is that it was a red 2-door and it had the 4T60E and the DOHC engine in it...

I decided to go with all 2nd gen top end. I got all of the parts I need, except the heads. Will try again on Friday. ended up getting a splint on my left ring finger and 4 stitches in my left elbow darn rain/hail!!!

Only question I have at the moment is; Do I need to get the chip redone, or get a new chip for it?
I am (ok, will be soon ) running the 3.1 (gen II ) with the 4T60E.

                    Thaks a lot !

I love this forum, you guys are great.

You'll need a different PROM, since the DOHC tables are different than the pushrod tables.

It was most likely a Monte Carlo, or possibly Lumina, the Beretta was never equipped with a DOHC.

Hope that my finger is better by Friday, weather is supposed to be nice and I really want to get me some cyl heads!!!

They did a custom set for my 3500 for $75.
Sorry, i'd like to correct myself.. $75 was the original quote but after shipping etc.. it ended up being over $100. I'll have to find my reciept to get the actual price...

Interesting you should post that info, i just got an email back from them this morning.

                            it is:

I would have to take a guess since we don’t make a one piece rod shorter than 6.000 inches. If you are using guide plates, then you need a CN58C2-B rod for the short one. That runs $10.06/ea. The longer one would be a one piece rod and the price is $6.43/ea. If you aren’t using guide plates, you have other options.

Since I am not going this route right now, it doesn't matter. However, I am considering something along these lines for the future of my Daily driver. I like the idea/cool factor of having a hybrid motor
