  • Way too much Carbon on new pistons

Well I finally made it to the shop to give them my newly ordered Forged Arias pistons for my S/C 3400 GA, I was looking at my cracked piston, and Damn.

For only 400 mile they had a whole lot of Carbon build up.

Could anyone tell me why so fast.

What could cause so much carbon build up in such short time

Poor air/fuel mixture, poor oil control and poor quality fuel (?) Not necesarily in that order. Might be a combination of these things too.

what about the running in period,
wouldn't that leave a lot of carbon deposit too ?

bad sealing between the rings and wall..so that would have an effect on combustion right ?
